What We Do

Our mission is to support individuals and families, as they build new beginnings without our community, offering food, clothing, and holistic care that fosters resilience and well-being.

How We Do It

For over six years our volunteers have welcomed new arrivals to Metro Detroit and have provided wrap-around services to neighbors embarking on a new life in a new country.  Our goal is to promote stability, dignity, and opportunity.  The majority of soliDar's clients come to us via word-or-mouth. We value the trust and confidence that our families have in our organization.  Since covid, we have served over 1,000 immigrant families throughout the Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne counties, and currently assist over 500 families.

Support

Guidance in finding and accessing local programs, institutions and social  services, tailored to each person/family's specific needs and circumstances.

Outreach

Assistance with food, clothing, personal hygieine, baby clothes, baby gear, diapers/wipes, furniture, and other kinds of material assistance.

Empowerment

Commitment to building an inclusive community where newcomers and their families can reach their full potential and thrive.

The Impact

Thank you so much for the food; it was a great help.  My husband has been working only 2-3 days a week for fear of leaving the house and this donation helped us alot.  May God bless you always!
